The Zonker Streamer

The zonker streamer is a great lure for fishing large trouts, perches, and pikes.
It is made off a strip of rabbit fur, this material has an excellent movement underwater, during the stripping the hair makes a powerful pulsation, irresistible for the fish.
First tied by the American fly-fisherman Dan Byford during the ’70s, the zonker streamer became soon a popular pattern world-wide.

The zonker imitates a wide range of baitfish, and it can be productive in both freshwater and saltwater.
For this pattern, we use the fish mask, it helps to last long the fly, even after many bites.
If you are chasing big fish, the zonker streamer is essential in your fly-box.

This particular pattern is made with two different sections connected. The purpose is to increase the flexibility of the streamer’s tale and achieve a more realistic movement.

The skull head has a realistic profile and is slightly weighted; the weight allows the streamer to sink faster in a natural way.
