The Pheasant Tail Nymph
This pattern mimics a large variety of aquatic insects that many fish, like trout and grayling, feed over. It is one of the most used flies in rivers and stream.
Conceived and created by the English riverkeeper and fly-fisherman Frank Sawyer, this pattern one of the oldest still used nowadays.
The pheasant tail nymph is most productive when allowed to sink close to the river bed on a dead drift and then gently raised in the water to imitate the behaviour of the natural insect, like the mayfly emerger.
It is an excellent all year round fly, suitable for every season.
The Hot Neck is very attractive when the water is slightly coloured, the hot spot helps to be more visible.
Also available in orange.
Tungsten Bead Nymphs
The tungsten plays a crucial role to let the nymph sink.
Nymphs with large beads play them best in deep and fast water, while nymphs with small bead are more suitable for shallow or slow water or to be used as a dropper.
