George Griffith invented this multi-purpose and attractive fly; he was as well one of the Trout Unlimited founding fathers, an American organization established in 1959 concern the trout and the water where the trout lives protection. 

The Griffith’s gnat is an excellent fly for trout in the rivers, streams and lakes.
