The Griffith’s Gnat

The Griffith’s gnat imitates a midge, a small two-winged fly that is often present in swarms near water. It is an excellent fly during the summer season, depending on the size it can simulate an adult midge or an insect trapped on the water surface. 

Classic Dry Fly

George Griffith invented this multi-purpose and attractive fly; he was as well one of the Trout Unlimited founding fathers, an American organization established in 1959 concern the trout and the water where the trout lives protection. 

The Griffith’s gnat is an excellent fly for trout in the rivers, streams and lakes.
